Of the 140 saunas we list, 31 plug into a standard 120V household outlet. Another 23 run on 120V but need their own 20A circuit, which usually means an electrician. Every traditional sauna we list needs 240V.
Some sellers call any 120V sauna "plug-in". That hides a real difference. A sauna with a standard NEMA 5-15 plug fits an ordinary outlet. A sauna with a NEMA 5-20 plug draws up to 20 amps and needs an outlet on its own 20A circuit. If you don't already have one where the sauna will go, that's an electrician's job. Even standard-plug makers often say the outlet shouldn't share a circuit with anything else.

They run cooler than traditional saunas by design. The standard-outlet models we list that publish a maximum temperature all give 170°F. The traditional saunas we list publish 170°F and up.
None in our catalog. Every traditional and hybrid sauna we list uses a 240V stove that is hardwired to its own circuit.
Not for the plug itself, if you already have a suitable outlet that isn't shared with other loads. For a 20A model without a free 20A circuit, yes. An electrician can confirm either way.
